UTE-Brasov2-5

Újpest has not had the smoothest start to this season however at first it looked like their fortunes might turn against a visiting Brasov club that was playing the first leg of a two match road trip. Teams were deadlocked at 0-0 until late in the first period when Kevin Wehrs put the puck past József Pleszkán for an even strength goal and the 1-0 lead. 35 seconds into the second the home team was able to tie things up on a two man advantage when Péter Németh scored. About seven minutes later UTE took the lead on a David Coleman goal, unfortunately they could not hold on to the lead. The Brasov Wolves tied it up on a Róbert Péter goal and then took a 3-2 lead on a Juha Hietamaki PP goal. The visitors continued the scoring when they beat Pleszkán on two more powerplay goals by Csanád Virág and Martin Saluga.

Ten minutes later Antti Ojanen tied it up for the home team at one all. FTC took their first lead of the night when Norbert Dancsfalvi scored against Stanislav Kozuch. The lead lasted till 25:28 when Tihamér Becze scored on the man advantage and even it up at 2-2. Fradi jumped ahead again when they had their own PP goal by the way of Ákos Berta 40 seconds into the last stanza of hockey. Moldován had his second goal of the night which again was on the power play, with neither team being able to score there was less than one minute of bonus hockey because Attila Góga give the visiting team the OT win. One thing that we did learn from the match was that FTC needs to work on their penalty kill.
