UTE-Brasov 3-5

After a long time Újpest was playing in a close exciting game. The home team happened to catch the visitors at the right time after a tiring overtime loss at Miskolc.

Csaba Virág opened up the scoring for UTE as David Coleman had the assist. Levente Zsók scored on the first Brasov powerplay to make it 1-1. UTE was able to close out the first period with the lead as Richárd Reiter scored with just over one minute left.

Brasov was able to score three goals in the span of 4:22 to flip the game from being down by one to being up by two. Josh Bonar and Zsók scoring on the PP with Kevin Wehrs on the two man advantage.

UTE scored a power play goal of their own in the third period when Ádám Pichler put the puck past Rajmond Fülöp. UTE was unable to score a fourth goal and Zsombor Antal scored one more for Brasov.

FTC-Miskolc 6-1

Miskolc was playing 24 hours after an overtime win and without the league leader in goals. Jordan Knox was serving his suspension and after being pulled from last nights match Péter Mayer went back to Dávid Duschek in the cage.

Artyom Vaszjunyin opened up the scoring for FTC as he took a soft shot from the right faceoff circle, less than a minute later Jere Ölander doubled the lead. István Mestyán made it 3-0 when FTC took advantage of a two man advantage, however Miskolc was able to get one back when they scored on their own 5 on 3 with Vladimir Dubek beating Krisztián Budai. That was all that Miskolc could muster as they were visible not as strong as FTC.

In the third period Antti Ojanen, Arnold Feil and Vaszjunyin all scored to set the final of 6-1.

After the game when asked what was the difference between the two teams Zoltán Pál said it was clear that the overtime match the night before had taken a toll on the opponents and with Knox in the lineup Miskolc is a much stronger team.

Brasov-Csíkszereda 4-1

In the Transylvanian derby the visitors opened up the scoring with on a Tihamér Becze goal.

In the second period Juha Hietamäki tied it, as the teams entered the third period even.

Less than a minute into the third Magor Petres set up Zsombor Antal for the PPG and the lead which Brasov would not relinquish. Hietamäki scored his second of the game on an unassisted goal and for good measure Martin Saluga added an unassisted shorthanded goal.

DAB-UTE 7-2

The home team scored two early goals as Adrián Hűffner had a PPG and Robert Szabados scored less than a minute later.

The second period was all Dunaújváros as Imre Peterdi and Zsolt Azari both scored shorthanded and Attila Pavuk with seconds left in the period to open the lead to 5-0.

Viktor Kovács ended the shutout twelve seconds into the third period as Dániel Szirányi had the assist. Dávid Szappanos and Peterdi scored two more in the third and UTE managed to score their second goal of the game with two seconds left in the match as Csaba Virág beat the keeper.

Miskolc-Nové Zámky 4-3

After being the backup for the last past two matches Dávid Gyenes was back between the pipes in a match that brought all the excitement that a game like this would be expected to bring.

The visitors struck first on a Peter Polcik goal with Erik Weissmann getting the assist. Miskolc came back on a PPG by Vladimir Dubek.

In the second period Pavol Pavesic scored on the PP but just like in the first period Miskolc came back when Juraj Faith put the puck past Jan Chovan right before the end of the period.

In the third Dubek scored his second of the night and Tyler Metcalfe had a PPG. The visitors were able to come back within one with Polcik's second of the game to make the last five minutes exciting.

Csíkszereda-Nové Zámky 2-1

This game ended up being one of the lowest scoring games in the league this season.

After a scoreless first period and 16 minutes into the second Pavol Pavesic broke the deadlock when he took a pass from Martin Frolik Vacláv Novák PPGs, what is also interesting is that all three goals that were scored between the two teams were power play goals.

UTE-FTC 7-6 OT

Earlier in the week Újpest decided to shake up their roster in an effort to make something out of this season that has not exactly gone the way they had expected. Roscoe Sweeney said that they hoped that this would motivate him and his teammates to push forward and push each other as well. It seems like it did work in a ridiculously high scoring and back and forth match.

UTE scored three unanswered goals in the first period. Lőrinc Farkas and David Coleman scored in a span of 11 seconds with Viktor Kovács having the third.

The second period produced six goals, with FTC scoring four in a row. Zoltán Pál and Antti Ojanen beat the keeper one minute apart, Pál struck again with Norbert Dancsfalvi having the fourth, all of the goals were even strength. UTE closed out the scoring in the period with Kovács and Farkas scoring 36 seconds apart, the second one coming short handed.

The period brought even more excitement as FTC scored twice to regain the lead, Dávid Horváth tied the game up and Mikael Potila scored the 6th for Fradi. In an effort to get their first win of the season Péter Németh scored with about 10 minutes left to make it 6-6. With no more goals coming in the game the match went to overtime.

It didnt take long but UTE bagged the two points when Sweeney scored 23 seconds into the bonus session for the game winner. Next up for the purple and white is to get a win in regulation.

Brasov-Miskolc 4-2

In a match where both teams were fighting for second place in the standings the Polar Bears traveled east to Transylvania.

Tyler Metcalfe put the visitors on the scoreboard first, but the home team came back quickly on a Levente Zsók goal. Zsolt Molnár scored once more to give the home club a 2-1 lead after one. In the second period the teams swapped goals as Vladimir Dubek made it 2-2 but Juha Hietämaki put his club back up by one right before the end of the period.

The lone score in the last twenty minutes was a Magor Petres to set the two goal win.
