After opening the tournament in St.Pöleten with a loss to Canada, the women's national team was back on the ice on new year's day against the Czech Republic.
Hungary-Czech Republic 3-2 SO
Head coach Tibor Marton stuck with Anikó Németh in net after the 8-0 loss to Canada. The Czechs opened up the scoring at the 13:29 mark of the first period, in the second Hungary tied it up when Alex Gowie set up Lili Pinter for the goal, however minutes later the Czechs took back the lead. Dorottya Medgyes tied it up late in the game with less than five minute left in the game. After a scoreless overtime Lili Pintér scored the winning shootout goal for the Hungarian win.
