Head coach Tibor Marton gave Anikó Németh the start in net
It didn’t take long for Hungary to take the first lead of the game as Alexandra Huszák scored in the first minute of play off of a pass from Réka Dabas. The score stayed the same until late in the second period when Dabasi and Huszák teamed up again for a second Hungarian goal with the former assisting on the latter's goal. In the last minute of play Andrea Kiss set up Lili Pintér for the third Hungarian goal as Németh brought home the shutout.
