Women’s U18 4 Nations: Czechs were stronger

The Hungarian women's U18 national team is playing in Zlin, Czech Republic from the 20-22 in the Visgrád 4 tournament, on the first day they took on the host team of Czech Republic.

Before the tournament national team head coach Tibor Marton had this to say “In November in the games against Austria we had a 20+2 roster, for the world championships we can only take 18+2, because of this reason we are only taking 20 girls with us to Zlin. Four girls from the games against Austria are not in the squad however two new skaters were called into the squad. So for I’m satisfied with the attitude of everyone on the team”

On game day Marton said “this is the last chance that the girls will have a chance to play before the world championships, this is also a great opportunity for the girls to improve and to learn. Before the world championships we will only have 2-2 on ice practices on January 1st and 2nd”

Maruyama Yumi started the first game in net against the home team who put out their U15 team. The Czechs were a strong team despite their youth in the 7-1 win against Hungary, Zóra Gottlibet scored the only Hungarian goal in the first period, the shots on goal were pretty close 24-22.

Tomorrow Hungary will face Slovakia at 15:00
