For the second game that the Hungarian Women’s U18 team was playing in Sheffield England, Panna Luca Varga got the start in net against Poland, Piroska Hodos was on the bench and Yumi Maruyama was scratched.
Poland scored first in the opening twenty minutes of the game, in the second period Hungary out shot Poland but were not able to put the puck in the Polish net.
In the final period Hungary again outshot Poland but the Polish keeper was able to hold on to the clean sheet.
Hungarian head coach Norbert Buzás: We came up short in a tough hard fought game against Poland. We worked hard, we created chances but were not able to take advantage of them. Overall I’m happy with the way our team played today.
