Women's U18 WC roster is set

The training camp roster for the upcoming U18 Women’s world championships in Vaujany France has been announced and interestingly the coaching staff has decided to only bring in the final roster, 18 skaters and two goalies.

“We will only be having three on ice practice sessions since the equipment will already be going to France on January second” said head coach Tibor Marton, “therefor we are concentrating only on polishing the system that we will be playing in because of this we only called in the players that we know were going to make the final roster. We based the roster on what we have seen during the four training camps that we had during the season. We would like to state that this is a new squad, a young squad.”

Last year the U18 team played in the A pool at the world championships that were held in Budapest but ended up being relegated to Division 1. This year the will be facing Slovakia, North Korea, Germany, Austria and the host nation of France in a fight to win the group and gain promotion back to the top level.

There has been a number of changes as well, besides the natural turnover of talent on youth teams, Tibor Marton was named the head coach with Dwayne Gylywoychuk joining Norbert Buzás as an assistant coach, with Zuzana Tomcikova being the goalie coach.
