Women U18 get blanked by Norway

After being shut out by Slovakia on the opening day of the U18 World Championships in Miskolc, Hungary was hoping to score their first goal and get their first win against Norway.

Norway-Hungary 5-0

Hungarian coach Norbert Buzás decided to go with Yumi Maruyama in net in place of Vanessa Horváth. In the first period Norway was the better team however both teams had created scoring opportunities however Norway scored first in the eighth minute when Pedersen centered a pass from the baseline that Strandborg put past Maruyama. In the second period Hungary had created a number of scoring chances but just like in the first period Norway was able to score this time Sirum scored to make it 2-0. Early in the third period a shot from the blue line was redirected into the back of the Hungarian net to make it 3-0. Things unraveled a bit in the closing minutes as Norway scored twice to lock up the win as they collected their first victory of the tournament.
