World Champs to start a day later

2014.10.30. 16:03 |

The World Championships will be starting a day later than originally scheduled. The mens Division 1/A Ice Hockey World Championships in Krakow Poland will be held from April 19th through the 25th.

The request for the change was made by the Polish Ice Hockey Federation and granted by the International Ice Hockey Federation. The IIHF only released that the host federation had requested the change from the original dates of 18th through the 24th, and the IIHF agreed with the reasons for the change in dates.

There was nothing mentioned about changes to the actual schedule of matches, it would be safe to assume at this time that everything will stay the same, there will be no matches held on the second and fourth days of the week.

It would seem that the changes happen to coincide with the dates of singer Robbie Williams’ tour dates as he will be stepping on stage in the Krakow Arena on the 17th of April.
