Despite the loss everyone of the Hungarian national team agreed that they played well and they are on the correct road to achieve what they set out to do.
Rich Chernomaz: "For about 50 minutes we played a pretty aggressive game that we wanted to play, they have some very good technical players who can skate very well. We didn't take many penalties this time around. The momentum of the game changed when we took a late penalty in the game. Late in a game you can’t do this, I brought this to the team attention and we need to control our emotions late in the game. The tying goal was off of a fundamental mistake."
Andrei Nazarov: "It was a good game, both teams tried to win and we were the lucky one in the end. We know each other very well, now we have won a couple games in a row. Both teams are trying to win."
István Bartalis: "I took a hit and I took a stupid penalty, I know I should not have done that, I can’t put the team at a disadvantage. My legs felt great, the pace of the game was great, I could do what i wanted. We stayed within the system that the coaching staff wanted, we played well but unfortunately they score one more goal than we did."
Csanád Erdély: "It felt great to be back with the team in a game, I was a bit nervous after not playing with the team for some time. The team played great and we are on the right path and if we continue this road we will have a great tournament. I was kind of the joker today playing on different lines and in different positions, I think the coaching staff wanted to see how much of the play book I have consumed and how well I’m prepared. I tried to play to the best of my ability."
Vilmos Galló: "We made some mistakes that's helped them in the third period,I think we played great but we worked hard and I think we played at the same level as them."
Dániel Kóger: "I don’t think I was surprised by how we played, we have been working hard for the past 3-4 weeks and now I think the games in Russia will come down to a number of small things. It was my first game back and my leg felt great but it was a bit strange to be playing in live action. I think we will be play at a better level come the world championships."
Márton Vas: "I think we played well and there were parts of the game that we controlled which shows that we have been growing. We tried to play to their level and also play more aggressive than what they did. We did have a misstep when they were able to score two quick goals."
