The proposed game Hungarian senior team and KHL side Spartak Moscow is now pushed back to a yet unkown date as the organizer Arena ran into unforeseen problems.
It was announced on 22/09/15 that the Hungarian senior team would play against KHL side Spartak Moscow 09/02/16 as an appetizer for the Olympic qualifier tournament 12-14/02/16 at the Laszlo Papp Arena in Budapest.
However, the Arena notified the Hungarian Ice Hockey Federation that numerous possible sponsors have now pulled out, therefore the Arena would have to rise the ticket prices so high that "it'd cause unease among fans and negatively effect the turnout." At the same time the Arena is "willing to organize the event at another time."
The Hungarian Ice Hockey Federation is now considering the possibility of staging the game at another date, however, now focuses on the current events, such as the game between the class of 2008 which gained promotion to the A-pool, the so called Sapporo Heroes, and the Czech Legends on Tuesday evening at the Tuskecsarnok, the upcoming tour of the senior team in Norway and the various youth programs.
The senior team's Olympic qualifier tournament 11-14/02/16 will still be held at the Laszlo Papp Arena in Budapest.
