For the Bronze medal game of the Hungarian Cup MAC Budapest took on Debrecen who had a very short bench. They had Ádám Vay in net missing from team was Norbert Dancsfalvi, Bronson Kovács, Zoltán Csikí, Zsolt Wéber, Artyom Vaszjunyin and Norbert Hári were missing for various reasons. MAC had Gergely Arany in net with Tomas Klempa and Dávid Szappanos were missing from the lineup. Debrecen scored the first goal as they surprised Arany when Erik Piatak took a shot from the left faceoff circle. Later in the period Piatak scored his second of the period when he put a rebound in from just outside of the crease. In the second period MAC still looked slow as Debrecen was going full speed despite the short bench. Dániel Godó put Debrecen up 3-0 when he banked a shot off of Arany and in. Minutes later to shake his team up coach Gergely Majoross switched Arany for Bálizs in net. In the third period MAC looked as if they woke up as Jeff Hayes scored from the slot to get MAC back with in two. Bence Stipsicz took a shot from the left faceoff circle that trickled in through Vay, later in the period Stipsicz struck again when he fired a shot again from the left faceoff circle. In overtime a MAC shot was blocked that sprang Erik Piatak who skated in on a breakaway and fired it past Bálizs for the winning goal.Evgeni Muhin Debrecen coach: Everything went well at the start of the game but the team got tired but i the end we were lucky.
Gergely Majoross MAC head coach: The game came down to who would run out of energy first, we used a lot of energy on how we would get back into the game, we played better in the second and third period, in the end they had the bounce in their favor.
Bence Stipsicz MAC defenceman: We started slow the team was not focused and we were not on the same page. We managed to adjust after the first period, we just couldn’t get goals. We just couldn't take advantage of our chances.
Erik Piatak: The key was that we played well at the start of the game and we got up 3-0. In the third period we switched to defending as we were under a lot of pressure, in the end they were still able to score three goals but in the end luck was on our side.
