Dávid Kiss, coach: It was good game, it was closer than we expected despite only being on the ice for the past four days. We had a great start and we were able to keep up with them but by the end of the game we started to get tired and that was clear by the way we played. It would be great to play against a couple more teams of this caliber before the World Championships. At the end of the month we will be going to Sweden to face similar teams.
Clark Donatelli, USA head coach: This was our first game after the first few practices, the guys executed well but we were a bit sloppy, our neutral zone transition got better as the game went on but we still have some room to improve. Our pace was really good but we started to get fancy as the game went on, overall we played well. This was not a 4-1 game despite scoring two late goals, this was a good game for us from the physicality point, it was a really good test for us.
Zsombor Garát, defenceman: They were a strong team despite being a year younger than us, I think we played well and stood our ground. We competed for 60 minutes, of course there were some peaks and valleys throughout the game but we played well.
Kevin Szabad, forward: We were able to keep the temp in the first two periods, we started to relax at the end of the second period. Overall I would say we were able to keep up with them. On paper they were a better team but I don’t think they were much better than us, in some nuances they executed better.
Bence Kiss, goalie: From the point of view as a goalie it is better to start the game right after warmups than to get into the game cold. The game was well paced, and they had some great shots despite their youth.
