The U17 and U18 national teams open up the national team season with a series of training camps in August in the Tüske tent.
The younger age group with open up the season with 35 players born in 1999 from August 17th through the 20th. During the two day camp they skaters will hit the ice three times with a number of off ice programs as well, with the roster being cut on the 18th at noon. The the team will start out with 6 goalies, 11 defenseman and 20 forwards, the squad will have two more practices before heading to Slovakia. On the 19th the team will play the U18 team from Eperjes and the next day at 10 they play the junior team of HC Presov.

The U18 team will be opening their training camp with a squad of 20 players, August 24th and 25th before heading to Poland for the Olympic Hopefuls Tournament. Head coach Glen Williamson will be cut the roster down after three on ice practices on the 25th. The team will travel to Debica Poland on the 26th.
The four team tournament with be made of the U18 team of Poland, the Slovak U16 and the Austrian U18 national teams as well.
